TAC-1.

Terraformis archeaoaevii cyberfauna

Engineered from macrofauna by elven biogenefarmers. Each carries its own little community around on it.

First of a series.

This one has a pretty quiet looking city on it...

There are four currently; I intend to do quite a few more once I have gotten the three that are in NYC home.

You know... I see this every once and a while in my random thumbnails... so I went and looked at it and kept thinking and thinking...

Did you ever read the "Wrinkle in Time" series? It somehow reminded me of how the Cherub continually had to explain that there was worlds within worlds; the mitochondria was really just a planet within the entire human body which was its solar system... something of the sort.

I'm liking this idea of yours more and more.

The "Wrinkle in Time" series had a minor influence on my development as a writer and artist. I'm surprised people don't notice it more often. :)

Definitely. It's an interesting way of looking at things, taking an abstract idea and making it nearly tangible.

I wrote a short story once where all of a person's "sins" or psychological issues/hang-ups physically manifested and followed/rode people around in the form of little (sometimes not so little) monsters.

I cannot find it these days (I think it was on the lap top that melted in Minnesota) but the idea lingers on ...

On a way less serious note, that totally reminded me of ANOTHER book I read when I was a kid, it was about this magic witch who turned kids' bad words and thoughts into bubbles that floated over their head and could be read. And the bubbles only went away when the kids apologized to each other and such.

Obviously that is waaaaay below the reading level of "Wrinkle in Time"....
...
But yeah that's really dark. Something you want no one to see but... there it is.
I had something VAGUELY similar with my old character Nivek (and no he's not really like his name sake at all...), but only he could see them as shadows and whispers and the only time he could see them totally clearly and talk to them where times of illness and death, so at one point I'd have him do shit like he'd try and cut out the artery of his arm thinking if he almost died them others could see them and they wouldn't think he was crazy.... he kind of fizzled as a character and that probably has part of it.

I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet...

I really find this fascinating, and I think it was more than appropriate that you made it bird-like, as birds are known for building up forests and ecosystems.
